What We Do
Nhuubala Yugal Education Centre offers an alternative learning environment for students who are disengaged from the school system. The Centre disrupts the traditional model of curriculum delivery and behavioural management to increase student engagement and learning.
By adopting a relational approach to education, we provide a safe and supportive learning environment, keeping young people off the streets and striving towards their dreams.
Nhuubala Yugal Education Centre changes and shapes young lives. The work we do is aimed at providing a holistic approach to solving some of the biggest challenges faced by rural youth. By utilising community, culture and connection, we offer services that empower young people to take charge of their lives.
Education Support Mentoring
With our organisation's mission always in mind, we strive to put community at the centre of our students' educational experiences. Our Centre utilises individualised curriculums and pffers students the opportunity to learn with mentors in a supportive and culturally sensitive environment. For more information about options for students undertaking our Education Support Mentoring Program, please visit the 'Pathways' page.
School Connect Program
Connection is one of our fundamental values. With this initiative, our goal is to promote connection and positive relationship building. Through a daily pick up and drop off service, we facilitate meaningful conversation, enabling students to build relationships of trust with each other and with mentors. Through this program, we also provide children with packed lunches to support their day of learning.
With access to the right resources, young people can become empowered by their own abilities and gain the confidence to fulfill their potential. That's why we also offer tutoring services for students enrolled at local schools. By employing a relational approach, mentors build connections with students and provide a positive learning experience.
Meals and Food Runs
One of our key goals is to facilitate a positive culture around education and learning, and with this initiative, mentors and students take a break from learning by sharing a meal. Through shared meals and food runs, we ensure that young people in the community have access to nutritious food and thereby the energy to strive towards their dreams.
